About Jake
With a mother and father who work in primary and secondary education respectively, I have always grown up in an environment which prioritises learning. My parents' love for their work cultivated a similar enjoyment of education in me.
I achieved Grade 9 in all eleven of my GCSEs and was also awarded three A*s for the A Levels I took this summer. Additionally, I have also been offered a place to read Law at the University of Oxford.
I know how important maximising academic potential is, having begun school on learning support schemes before eventually becoming a successful Oxbridge applicant.

Throughout my time at school, I felt the best teachers were those who inspired curiosity while also reinforcing learning. As a result, my lessons will focus on why the subject material is worth studying before underlining it with depth of knowledge. I also feel that education tends to achieve too little in too much time; consequently my lessons would seek to maximise learning by placing an emphasis on information recall (something critical when looking at exam revision).
My lessons could be tailored to suit primary school students, teaching literacy and reading, or GCSE and A Level students to enable them to achieve the best possible grades.

I know from first hand experience that Jake is the one to go to for help with English. Whether it’s drafting up an essay in half an hour or annotating a poem to A* standard it is definitely worth giving him a go.
I’ve known Jake for 5 years now and I can attest that he is one of the most hard working boys I know. We studied English together for A level and, having always asked him for help in history, English was no different. He is helpful in collaboration and is patient in making sure everything is understood. He is insanely intelligent and anyone having the pleasure of having him as a tutor is lucky!
