About Ocean
As a Chinese immigrant who grew up in a family with very limited resources, I learned from an early age the value of hard work. I worked hard every weekday, weekend, and even the summer to create opportunities for myself. That journey has shaped the way I approach teaching. As a high school student, I gained hands-on teaching experience working with elementary and middle school students. I want my students to see that they are capable of more than they may initially believe. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to encourage them to challenge themselves and develop a genuine desire to learn. I bring a strong sense of responsibility to every lesson, and I want every student to leave feeling more confident and motivated than when they arrived.

Students learn best when they understand why something works, rather than memorizing what works. My lessons are personalized to each student’s learning style and goals. I use concise explanations and examples that encourage students to think independently. A typical lesson plan begins by reviewing previous material, identifying areas of difficulty, introducing the new concept, and practicing together before having the student solve problems independently.
