We also live by the code of letters. Which is why I love teaching both English - reading and composition - and math. Words are constructs, so are sentences. If you build it, they will read - word by word, sentence by sentence.

Mindset is an important part of education, though it is not discussed much at all. I use metacognitive and metalearning techniques to try to prepare the a student's mind for instruction.
When it comes to mathematics, which boils down to definitions, rules and formulas and is a very meticulous and unforgiving discipline, it all starts with the multiplication chart. I developed a technique to teach the multiplication chart to younger students.
I teach 6th to 8th grade math and tutor high school students in TEST PREP and algebra 1 & 2, geometry and Precalculus.
I try to be creative about lesson plans based on the student's needs. (I am also a creative writer who has published a graphic novel and written animation projects.)
I have also taught reading and phonics to younger students (1-3 grade).
