About Mary Grace
I love all things math! Do you struggle with math? Have you always struggled with math? Let’s conquer math together!
I have been in education for over 10 years. I am an Alamaba certified high school math teacher. My absolute favorite math is Geometry, but I also provide tutoring services for math courses ranging from elementary math on up to Algebra 2 with Trigonometry.
I actually discovered I wanted to be a teacher in the 11th grade. I starting working with younger students helping them understand their math courses and found that I have a knack for it! I continued tutoring until I finished college and then became a classroom teacher. I absolutely love my job and wouldn’t change it for the world!
I have been in education for over 10 years. I have a master degree in secondary math education, and I am currently a high school math teacher.

The first session will be a time for me to get to know the student and also to work through a few concepts he or she may be struggling with in their math course. Then each session after that depends on the needs of the student. If we need to work through homework together for practice, or study for an upcoming test, then we will do that. If the student did not understand that day’s class lesson, I will reteach it and we will practice problems together to make sure he or she fully grasps that concept before moving on to something else. I customize each session according to the needs of the individual student.
All types of students are welcome! I have worked with students who range in abilities from low to high. Perhaps you have a learning disability? That’s OK! You can still learn math! Do you take honors courses and need extra support? I can help you with that too!
First, make sure the tutor is qualified. I would check to make sure they are degreed in math or at the very least have some sort of background in math, such as an engineering job. Second, make sure the tutor’s personality works with yours. You will learn best with a teacher you can relate to.
I love to travel and experience new things in and around Birmingham, as well as overseas. I have visited five countries, and hope to visit more in the future. My most recent event, however, was right here in Birmingham! I went to the Buck Creek Festival. It was a fun event that I had never attended. I can’t wait to try more festivals in Birmingham this summer!
