About Milla van

Hello! My name is Milla Van Niekerk, and I’m a passionate, dedicated online tutor with over two years of experience helping students grow in confidence and reach their academic goals. I specialize in English and Afrikaans, but I also teach Biology, adapting my lessons to suit different curriculums and needs. I hold a TEFL certification and am currently completing my BA in Humanities, which has deepened my understanding of people and how they learn. I offer lessons in both English and Afrikaans, and I always aim to create a supportive, encouraging learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. What makes my approach unique is that I adapt every lesson to fit each student’s learning style and pace. Whether you’re a young learner starting out, a high school student preparing for exams, or an adult wanting to improve your English or Afrikaans skills, I’ll meet you where you are and help you move forward with confidence. I look forward to supporting you on your learning journey!

About the lesson

As a private tutor, I take a student-centered and flexible approach, always adjusting my teaching methods to suit each learner’s individual needs, pace, and learning style. Whether a student needs help building confidence, mastering complex topics, or improving their study habits, I aim to create a calm, supportive, and encouraging space where they feel comfortable to grow. I specialize in tutoring English and Afrikaans, but also have experience teaching Biology. I am TEFL certified and currently completing a BA in Humanities, which enhances my ability to communicate clearly and approach learning from a broad, human-focused perspective. I teach in both English and Afrikaans, and my lessons are delivered online via Zoom. A typical lesson includes interactive explanations, practical examples, student-led questions, and a strong focus on understanding, not just memorizing. I provide regular feedback and tailor my materials to suit curriculum requirements. My lessons are suitable for students aged six and up, including primary and high school learners, as well as adults who wish to improve their English or Afrikaans skills. Whether you're preparing for exams, needing extra academic support, or simply looking to grow in confidence with a new language, I provide patient, personalized guidance to help you achieve your goals. results, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
