About Charles

Hi, I'm Charles! I'm a recent Knox Grammar graduate heading into medicine in 2027, and I've just been through the whole medical admissions journey myself, from UCAT preparation to university applications and interviews.

I scored 2610 in the UCAT ANZ (99th percentile) and was awarded Dux of the School (STEM), placing 7th in the state in HSC Mathematics Advanced. I know how stressful the UCAT can feel, and how much difference the right strategies and practice make. I love helping students turn that stress into confidence.

I've been tutoring for 3 years, and I take it seriously as a professional service. I'm a registered sole trader, I prepare every lesson around the student's needs, and I keep parents updated on progress. My Working With Children Check application is in progress.

At school, I was a House Captain, a debater, and a Cadets section commander, and I volunteered as a carer at a camp for children with disabilities, experiences that have made me a patient, encouraging, and organized tutor.

If you're aiming for medicine or dentistry, I'd love to help you get there. Send me a message to arrange a free 15-minute chat!

My approach

The UCAT is a test of skills and strategy, not knowledge, and the right techniques make a big difference. I teach the exact methods and timing strategies that helped me score 2610 (99th percentile), then we build speed and accuracy through targeted, timed practice.

How lessons work

Our first lesson begins with a diagnostic so I can see your strengths and weaknesses in each section, and we build a personalised study plan up to your test date. Each lesson then focuses on specific sections: Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning and Situational Judgement. I teach a clear strategy for each question type, we practise under timed conditions, and we review every mistake so it doesn't happen again. Closer to your test, we move to full-length mocks and fine-tune your timing and exam-day approach.

Lesson length

I recommend 1.5 hour lessons, which allow time for strategy, timed practice and review. Shorter 1 hour sessions also work well for students who want focused practice on one section.

My qualifications and experience

I scored 2610 in the UCAT ANZ (99th percentile) and was awarded Dux of the School (STEM) at Knox Grammar in 2026, where I also placed 7th in the state in HSC Mathematics Advanced. I have 3 years of tutoring experience and I'm heading into medicine in 2027, so I've been through the entire medical admissions process very recently.

Who my lessons are for

Year 11 and 12 students, and gap-year students, preparing for the UCAT ANZ for entry into medicine, dentistry and related courses. Starting early in Year 12, or even in Year 11, gives the best results. Lessons are available online anywhere in Australia, or in person within 20 minutes of Middle Dural. Free travel within 20 minutes; a small travel fee applies beyond that.
