About Elia

¡Hola! My name is Elia, and I'm a native Spanish speaker with a Master's degree in Spanish from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance from San Diego State University.

I grew up on the U.S.–Mexico border between San Diego and Tijuana, where I was in connection between both languages and cultures. I also lived in Madrid, Spain, where I taught English.

Travel and experiencing cultures is one of my passions. I have a keen interest in international finance, Spanish literature—especially the works of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz and Carlos Fuentes—and personal growth. I listen to music in Spanish mostly - hopefully we can connect!

About the lesson

Whether you're learning Spanish for school, work, travel, or personal growth, I offer personalized lessons designed around your goals and learning style.

I understand that every student learns differently, so I take the time to create lessons that match your pace, interests, and goals. My lessons are engaging, supportive, and tailored to students of all levels!

Together, we can work on:

Conversation and pronunciation
Grammar and vocabulary
Reading and writing
Homework and exam preparation
Business and professional Spanish
Travel Spanish and everyday communication

I believe the best way to learn a language is by building confidence through real communication and practice. My goal is to create a comfortable, encouraging environment where you feel motivated to speak Spanish from day one.

I look forward to helping you in your Spanish learning journey. ¡Nos vemos pronto!
