About Sophie
Hello!
I grew up not being a massive fan of maths, I was never as fast as the other kids and it knocked my confidence. It was only later in secondary school that it began to click for me with the help of a few great teachers. I went on to study maths at uni and now work at various music events and festivals doing stock management (which is nearly all applied maths and problem solving).
In my free time I like to do pottery and crochet.

Maths is a muscle that you have to train - the only way to get good at it is to practice!
I like to start by showing a student an example question and working through it. We then work through a question together and then the student has ago on their own. Where possible, I like to use past paper questions or mock questions.
I’m keen to help students develop their confidence. I try not to give a student the full answer if they get stuck, instead nudging them in the right direction allowing them to ultimately find the solution.
