About Sophie
I have been tutoring for the last seven years, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I graduated from the University of Oxford in 2025, and McGill University, Montreal in 2024 with a First-Class Degree in History. I am Swiss and therefore fluent in French, and English. I have tutored several students at 11+, 13+, GCSE, and A-Level but focus now on GCSE/A-Level and University admissions. I have a passion for engaging with pupils interested in progressing in these subjects at all levels.

Languages: With an emphasis on speaking in the target language for as much time as possible (ability dependent), I aim to build students' confidence as this is often what stops people excelling in languages. We will also be looking at some texts and short stories in the target language to expose pupils to the language in its raw form rather than just what it looks like on a worksheet. Finally, there will be an emphasis on grammar and writing as these are the building blocks to any language, and fundamentally the most important when it comes to an examination.
