About Amithesh
I'm a university tutor at UQ, currently completing Master's of Data Science, and I teach programming and data science to students at every level, from complete beginners to university students working through their own coursework. I got into tutoring because I remember how disorienting programming felt at first, and I've stuck with it because I like watching that moment when something finally clicks for a student. Outside formal tutoring, I run practicals, tutorials, and one-on-one help sessions for two programming courses at university, so I'm used to explaining the same concept five different ways until one of them lands. I take preparation and reliability seriously, you can expect a tutor who shows up ready, communicates clearly, and actually checks whether you've understood something rather than just moving on.

I believe the best way to learn to code is by doing it, not watching it, so my sessions are hands-on and built around real problems (debugging, data science tasks, actual assignments) rather than textbook exercises, with you doing the typing while I ask the questions that get you unstuck. I adapt fast to wherever you're actually at, whether that's a complete beginner just getting started or someone stuck on one specific problem in their own coursework. Lessons are flexible in length, whether you need a quick 30-minute fix for one bug or a longer deep dive into a new topic.
