About Jon

Hello! My name is Jon, and I am currently studying Business Enterprise at the University of Strathclyde. My degree has given me a strong foundation in mathematics, probability, statistics, finance, and business, while also developing my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

I am passionate about helping students build confidence in subjects they may find challenging. I understand that everyone learns at a different pace, so I create a supportive, patient, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Alongside my studies, I balance part-time work and leadership responsibilities within a university society, which have strengthened my communication, organisation, and time management skills. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to each individual's goals, learning style, and current level of understanding. My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation before progressing to more advanced topics. I explain concepts clearly using step-by-step examples, encourage students to ask questions, and provide plenty of practice to help them apply what they have learnt confidently. I also share exam techniques and problem-solving strategies to improve both understanding and performance.
