About Sameer
I am an enthusiastic Economics student at the University of Birmingham (A*) with strong mathematical (A* at GCSE and A-level) and scientific ability (A* at GCSE). Keen to help students achieve their full potential, I believe that building a strong mentor-mentee relationship is key. My friendly yet disciplined approach ensures that each student is comfortable enough to ask for help, whilst also allowing for proactive sessions.
With over 3 years of experience tutoring 100+ students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, I have a strong understanding of how to identify and tackle any weak areas, be it from gaps in knowledge to exam technique. Having recently gone through the UK schooling system, I place particular importance on utilising mark schemes and examiners’ reports. This enables me to better comprehend what the examiner is looking for, which helps to produce the most concise and accurate responses as possible given the often very time pressured exams.
After identifying trouble areas in our first session, I will plan our course of lessons to address these, considering their exam boards’ syllabus. Time will also be allocated for students to apply their knowledge to exam questions.
I can ensure that my full effort will go into helping you thrive in your learning regardless of your academic ability or current subject knowledge, with my only expectation being commitment.

After using our first lesson to identify areas where the student may be struggling, our lessons will consist of covering content in depth, with the primary focus however being on practice questions and exam technique as these are what will achieve the highest grades.
With around a 20 minute: 40 minute split between content and exam practice, this will ensure that along with having the knowledge, he/she will be primed and ready for any tricky or challenging style of question on the day of the exam
I will monitor progress via said exam questions, and use this as a guide to structure the following lessons until the required skills are perfected.
