About Jonathan
I am in my third year of studying Mathematics at the University of Surrey, and I love it. I really enjoy imparting my enthusiasm for the subject to younger students; I was involved in tutoring GCSE students whilst I was studying for my A levels. If there are any particular sticking points, I believe in developing an intuitive understanding of the subject before delving into calculation, so I will work to build an intuition in the student that demystifies the sometimes involved calculation and should give a feel in an exam for when a solution is going the way intuition suggests, allowing my students to correct mistakes before going down a 20 minute rabbit hole in an exam and coming out with a lower grade than their intelligence deserves. I will also set students personalised questions to explore any areas that have been identified as weaknesses during sessions, to make sure we nail them.
I am applying for jobs in the field of Javascript development, but I have previously worked in jobs using Python and Java, so I am very familar with all 3, and computer science has long been an interest of mine. I can help with anything from basic syntax or algorithms to full stack development and API design.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Jonathan is a close friend who I met whilst studying undergraduate Maths at University of Surrey. I have known him for over 3 years and we have had many mathematical discussions, so I’m confident in saying he is a great mathematician and is more than capable in helping students to achieve the best in the area of Maths.
I consider Jonathan to be a skilful, friendly and reliable person who has great communication skill in teaching.
I know he would make a great tutor, especially as the level of maths she is tutoring is such that we are extremely fluent in it, due it’s daily use in more complex undergraduate problems.View more recommendations
