Laurence has been an enormous help to my daughter during her A-Level French studies. She quickly understood where the gaps were and tailored the lessons accordingly, with particular attention to speaking, grammar and essay writing.
What we appreciated most was the combination of encouragement and academic rigour. Laurence is warm and approachable, but she also sets high standards and knows exactly how to help a student progress.
My daughter's confidence improved considerably and I would have no hesitation in recommending Laurence to other parents looking for an experienced French tutor.

I studied French with Laurence alongside my university course and she was brilliant.
She has a very deep knowledge of the language but, more importantly, she knows how to explain difficult points without making them complicated. She helped me enormously with grammar, written work and speaking more naturally. The sessions were always lively and fun too.
You can tell she has taught at university level for many years. Highly recommended.

I would highly recommend Laurence. I wanted to return to my love of French after many years, and within a month, I was listening, writing, reading, and understanding! Every lesson is different, and classes are tailored to your personal likes and requirements. We discuss everything in French: the arts, politics, and current affairs. Laurence makes learning joyful, with structured classes and interesting topics.

I initially found Laurence online and she has proved to be an excellent and experienced teacher.
Her approach allows students to work at their own pace and to follow their own interests, while still working on the essential foundations of grammar and vocabulary.
She provides creative and imaginative sessions which include guided conversations covering a variety of topics: current affairs, films, literature etc. with useful reference to areas of relevant French culture.
I have also been provided with useful support materials and online tools, very useful for practice outside the sessions.
It is also important to mention that Laurence is a fluent English speaker.
Highly recommended!

I've been learning French with Laurence now for over five years and this in itself is a testament to how good a teacher Laurence is.
Many people now think that with AI and free language apps you no longer need a teacher to help you learn a language.
Wrong.
The key benefit of having a teacher is that you get to practice speaking in a foreign language with a native speaker.
Laurence has been crucial in boosting my confidence in speaking French when I visit France in a way that no app or online course could possibly do.
Consequently I'm more than happy to recommend Laurence to anybody who wants to learn to speak French with a real life teacher and not just an algorithm.
