About Liza

I am a dedicated mathematician with a flair for numbers and a heart for teaching. Currently, I'm honing my analytical skills through a Master's in Data Science at UNSW on a scholarship, a testament to my academic dedication. Beyond my love for mathematics, I have ventured into linguistics, achieving a B2 level in French. This linguistic journey has refined my communication skills, allowing me to support a wider array of students, including those from Francophone backgrounds. My teaching philosophy revolves around inspiring confidence, nurturing curiosity, and fostering a deep understanding of mathematics. I'm eager to guide students on a path of discovery, where each problem solved is a step towards mastery, in mathematics and beyond. I'm committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where each student feels supported and motivated to learn.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is grounded in the belief that mathematics is not just about numbers, but about thinking critically and solving problems creatively. As a current Master's candidate in Data Science at UNSW, I bring an integrated view of math and its real-world applications. My teaching methodology is interactive and personalized, focusing on student engagement through practical examples, especially in data analysis and statistical reasoning. Each lesson typically spans 60 minutes, packed with discussions, problem-solving, and review exercises. These sessions are crafted to accommodate the pace and learning style of each student, ensuring they grasp the fundamental concepts while also challenging them to apply their knowledge. I cater to students of all levels, from high school to undergraduate courses, and my lessons are especially beneficial for those with a keen interest in mathematics, statistics, or data science. Whether you're struggling with basic algebra or venturing into the realms of calculus and beyond, my goal is to make math approachable and your success achievable. Remember that your educational journey is unique, and I am here to support that journey with expertise, patience, and a passion for the subject that I hope to share with you.

I have always struggled with math. Then, I got to know Liza and thanks to her the way she teaches helps understand the complex concepts and how to breakdown a given questions to understand that. Her style is so interactive, visuals and most importantly it's so full of examples which helped me to understand the concept and recall in Exams or homework. She makes connections between the formula to make you understand and most importantly remember it.
I recommend her highly to all those who are looking forward to get comfortable in Maths as well as science subjects.
