About Michelle
Hi! I’m Michelle, and I’m currently studying Biomedical Science at the University of Auckland. I’ve always been passionate about chemistry and physics, and I developed a strong foundation in both subjects throughout high school, earning an Excellence endorsement in Level 3 Chemistry and Level 2 Physics. I’ve been tutoring for about two years now, helping Level 2 students at school and working one-on-one with students. Over time, I’ve developed a teaching style that’s personalized, which adjusts the pace, explanations, and practice to whatever works best for you. My tutoring focuses on actually understanding the concepts (not just memorizing them!) and then applying that knowledge through exam-style questions. I’ve found that this is the best way to build confidence and consistently aim for Merit or Excellence. Can't wait to learn together!!!

My lessons are designed to be relaxed, supportive, and completely personalised to you. I don’t believe in memorising pages of notes; instead, I focus on helping you actually understand what’s going on, so everything becomes easier and more intuitive.
In our first session, we’ll chat about:
-what topics are you doing at school
-what you find confusing
-what your goals are (Merit? Excellence? Or just trying to pass?)
From there, I’ll develop a plan tailored to your pace and learning style.
Every lesson includes:
-Clear, step-by-step explanations (no rushing, no judgement!)
-Organised notes you can review anytime
-Exam-style practice questions, because feeling confident before assessments is so important
A friendly space where you can ask anything — even the “silly” questions (which are never actually silly)
Lessons are typically one hour, allowing us enough time to break down the material properly and ensure you fully understand the concepts before moving on.
As a Biomed student at the University of Auckland, I’m very familiar with the NCEA curriculum and how the exams are structured. My goal is to help you feel more confident, less stressed, and genuinely proud of your progress.
