About the lesson

Hi! I’m Jules Walcott, a professional vocalist and songwriter from New York with over 15 years of singing experience and 6+ years of formal music education. I’ve had the privilege of teaching over 100 students worldwide, both in person and virtually, across all ages, genres, and voice types. My background includes instruction in voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele, with a focus on helping each student find their unique sound and artistic confidence. What sets me apart is my real-world experience as a successful artist and content creator. With more than 2.7 million followers on TikTok and a rapidly growing audience on Instagram and YouTube, I’ve built my career independently through music, marketing, and personal branding. This firsthand experience allows me to teach not only vocal technique and musicality, but also how to turn a passion for music into a sustainable career—from developing a strong artistic identity to understanding performance, content creation, and the business side of the industry. Beyond teaching, I’ve built a thriving career as a recording artist and performer, having toured nationally through the Simon Malls “Music @ the Mall” Tour founded by Randy Jackson from American Idol, performed alongside major acts, and released multiple viral singles including “Bad Boy” (5M+ streams) and “Boys Lie” (1M+ streams). I’m also partnered with brands such as Arctic Fox Hair Color, where I launched the Jules Remix Box, and have collaborated with lifestyle and fashion companies like Mercedes Benz, SHEIN, Temu, Ethika and American Dream Mall. These experiences allow me to offer students insight that goes far beyond traditional music lessons—I teach from real industry experience. My students learn not only technique and artistry, but also how to build a personal brand, grow an audience, navigate the modern music business, and perform with confidence both online and on stage. Whether their goal is to sing for fun or pursue music professionally, I bring the same tools, strategies, and mindset that have helped me succeed as a full-time artist. My mission as a teacher is to inspire confidence, creativity, and discipline in every student while showing that music can be both a lifelong joy and a professional path.

I have been Jules’s student since August of 2021 and she has truly helped me so much as not only a teacher, but a friend through teaching me how to make my voice stronger and helping me to pick the right songs for my repertoire. She is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met and she is 100% the best choice as a teacher for anyone.

Jules has been working with my daughter, Zoey, for several years now. They started with piano, then moved on to Ukulele and now they focus on voice. Zoey has made great strides working with Jules and her music teachers are always impressed by her growth. We owe that growth, in large portion, to the professionalism and support that Jules has provided. Jules builds a rapport with her students, encourages them to push outside of their comfort zone and provides lessons that are equal parts educational and fun. She is dependent, communicates well and is flexible. We highly recommend Jules whether you are just beginning your musical journey, are looking to supplement your child’s music education or are working towards competition within the music field.
