About Kim

My name is Kim and I’m a dedicated tutor with over 8 years of experience helping students reach their full academic potential. I am certified in Special Education and specialize in supporting a wide range of learners—from those who need extra help building foundational skills to those seeking to excel in more advanced coursework.

I bring a patient, personalized, and structured approach to every session. My teaching is grounded in proven strategies that adapt to each student’s unique needs, whether they’re navigating learning differences or simply need a fresh way to engage with the material. I take pride in helping students not only improve their grades but also gain confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning.

I’ve worked with students across various grade levels and subjects, and I’m especially experienced in creating supportive environments where learners feel safe, respected, and capable. My lessons are well-organized, engaging, and always focused on clear, achievable goals.

If you're looking for a qualified, compassionate, and results-driven tutor, I’d be honored to support you or your child on their learning journey.

Let’s build success—one step at a time.

About the lesson

As a tutor with over 8 years of experience and certification in Special Education, my teaching approach is rooted in patience, adaptability, and student empowerment. I believe that all students can learn when instruction is personalized, strengths are recognized, and challenges are supported with the right tools.

Teaching Method & Techniques
I use a multi-sensory and scaffolded teaching approach, which means I integrate visual, auditory, and hands-on strategies to match each student’s learning style. I prioritize building foundational understanding before moving to advanced concepts, and I incorporate frequent check-ins to ensure comprehension. For students with learning differences, I use evidence-based accommodations and break down complex tasks into manageable steps.

A Typical Lesson Plan Includes:
Quick warm-up or review of previous material

Clear learning objective for the session

Guided instruction with modeling and student practice

Interactive learning through questions, examples, and applied tasks

Formative assessment (e.g., exit ticket or summary)

I have a skillset working with students with IEPs, 504 plans, ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning differences

General education students who want to build confidence or improve academic performance

Whether a student is catching up or looking to move ahead, I provide a safe, structured space to grow academically and independently.

With over 8 years of tutoring experience and certification in Special Education, I specialize in providing individualized support for students of all learning styles and abilities.
