About Steve

I’m a professional actor, acting teacher, communication coach, and Lifetime Member of The Actors Studio with nearly three decades of experience in television, film, theater, commercials, voice-over, and live storytelling.

My television credits include *Grey’s Anatomy, Bosch: Legacy, CSI: Vegas, Station 19, General Hospital,* and *Days of Our Lives*. I earned my MFA in Acting through The Actors Studio graduate program at The New School in New York, where my training included scene study, script analysis, movement, voice, relaxation, and performance.

I received awards and recognition for my film work, for a solo show I wrote and performed Off-Broadway, NYC and as a public speaker. I help people write for performance in storytelling and solo shows.

As an educator, I have taught at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, Limelight Acting Studio in Valencia and Creative Acting Company. I've led public-speaking and storytelling workshops, and coached actors and communicators privately for more than a decade. My students have ranged from beginners discovering acting for the first time to experienced performers preparing auditions, scenes, self-tapes, and professional work.

I bring professional standards to the room, but I also believe acting training should be curious, challenging, supportive, and enjoyable. I want students to feel comfortable to explore, take risks, make mistakes, experiment, and discover what makes their own work compelling. I like to build upon strengths and nurture weaknesses. Building self-confidence is key.

I don’t teach students to imitate a particular acting style. I help them listen more deeply, make stronger choices, connect more fully to the circumstances and the other actor, and develop techniques they can continue using on their own.

Whether you are just beginning, returning to acting after time away, preparing an important audition, or looking to deepen your craft, I will meet you where you are and help you move the work forward.

My approach to acting is practical, personal, and rooted in helping each actor become more truthful, specific, and confident in their work.

I don’t believe in forcing one rigid technique. Instead, I draw from nearly three decades of professional acting experience, conservatory training, improvisation, scene study, public speaking, voice-over, storytelling, on-camera work, one person shows and individualized coaching to help each student discover what actually works for them.

A typical lesson begins by identifying the actor’s immediate goal. That might be preparing an audition or self-tape, working through a scene or monologue, developing greater emotional freedom, strengthen listening and responsiveness, improving on-camera technique, or simply becoming more comfortable and confident performing.

From there, we work actively. Rather than spending the entire lesson talking about acting, we act. I may use scene work, improvisation, physical or vocal exercises, script analysis, repetition, sensory work, or specific adjustments designed to get the actor out of their head and more fully connected to themselves and the other actor, the circumstances, and what they are trying to accomplish.

My feedback is supportive, and specific. I want students to understand not only what improved a performance, but why it worked so they can eventually make those discoveries independently.

What sets my teaching apart is the combination of professional experience and individualized attention. I am a Lifetime Member of The Actors Studio and have worked professionally in television, film, theatre, commercials, voice-over, storytelling, and writing. I have also taught acting, scene study, storytelling, script analysis, on-camera technique, and professional development.

Lessons are appropriate for beginning actors, experienced performers, teens, adults, working professionals, and anyone preparing for auditions, self-tapes, scenes, monologues, conservatory or college auditions, or on-camera work.

My goal is not to make you act like me. It is to help you become more fully yourself in the work—more present, more connected, more specific, and more able to trust what you bring to the role.
