About Pete

As a tutor, I bring over a decade of experience in higher education, including teaching college-level writing, literature, and composition. I hold both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Creative Writing, and I’ve worked with diverse student populations across multiple institutions ranging from high school dual credit to adult learners. Beyond classroom teaching, I’ve also supported students one-on-one in writing centers, advised on academic success strategies, and designed curriculum aligned with Common Core and college-readiness standards. My approach is student-centered, outcomes-driven, and grounded in empathy, structure, and proven pedagogy.

I create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment where all learners can thrive. With a master’s in creative writing and extensive experience teaching English and composition at the college level, I emphasize critical thinking, clarity, and creativity. I break down complex ideas into manageable, relatable concepts, and I tailor instruction to meet students where they are whether they need extra support or are ready to be challenged. I also bring real-world experience in communication, content creation, and education technology, helping students build practical skills they’ll use beyond the classroom.
