About Charnene
Rhythm guitar and intricate fingerpicking define my core teaching style. Guitar maintenance is just as critical as the music.
I have mentored 201 students throughout my career while maintaining a laid-back environment. Returning learners often appreciate how I connect the dots between theory and their favorite songs. My background at East Tennessee State University grounds my approach in the deep history of bluegrass performance.
Dealing with grade exam prep requires a steady hand and a clear head. Sometimes the best way to explain a chord transition is to simply play it and let it linger.

My Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Performance from East Tennessee State University gives me the tools to simplify complex songwriting structures. We check your gear regularly to ensure everything stays in tune.
Rhythm guitar acts as our foundation while we tackle tabs or exam pieces. If you need to refine your picking, we can slow things down until the groove feels right. It is helpful to treat the fretboard like a map rather than a cage.
I keep things chill so you can actually perform with confidence. Progress is inevitable when you keep the process honest.
