About Tawnya
Holding a Master of Science in Accounting from MIT Sloan does not automatically make someone a great tutor. The real value lies in the 13 years I have spent translating complex financial data for the 327 students I have taught.
I work with diverse learners ranging from university freshmen to professionals pivoting into new financial roles. My teaching philosophy relies on the idea that true competence is built through a disciplined, step-by-step mastery of fundamentals. You can expect a structured journey that emphasizes clarity over speed as we navigate the nuances of portfolio theory and risk and return. The first session usually begins with the distinct sound of a pen scratching against paper as we map out the time value of money. We utilize my Master of Science in Accounting background to dissect corporate finance and cost of capital, ensuring that you grasp the underlying logic of every calculation. You will find that mastering Excel for finance is far less intimidating when you understand the mechanics behind the formulas. My approach is rated 10.0 for simplifying complex financial statement analysis.
Past-paper walkthroughs serve as the centerpiece of our time, allowing you to see how theoretical knowledge applies directly to exam conditions. You will discover that the most complex financial models become manageable once you have a clear, structured system for your workflow.
