One of our best tutors. Quality profile, experience in their field, verified qualifications and a great response time. Kojo will be happy to arrange your first Android lesson.

About Kojo

I had the privilege of working in a startup back in 2016 to 2017 as an Android Developer for an application called SnooCODE. We had 3000 monthly users and I had a great experience working on the project. While I was working there I realized I enjoyed teaching Android development to the engineers that joined the team. I have taken this habit I have to the next level and I am now tutoring full-time these days.

About the lesson

Whether you have a project you need to get done immediately or a legacy project you need to maintain, I have a wealth of knowledge about working with individuals to attain their goals. My approach to teaching app development is to go through the fundamentals (in this case Kotlin/Java) before we delve deeper into wiring up an application. What is your main interest? My lessons are for beginner to experienced professionals who are looking to pick up native app development.

Learning from Kwadwo has been one of the best parts of my journey into the technology space! The wisdom he shares about career advancement, continuous learning, and self-development has really helped me grow as a developer. I remember my early days with Developers in Vogue where he was assigned to me as a tutor as a newbie in coding. I was relentlessly trying to navigate; how do I start coding? what resources should I start with? But, Kwadwo's next level intelligence and just the right level of assertiveness helped me pull through easily. It is very rare to come across unique tutors like Kwadwo who tends to impact people directly and indirectly. I can attest that the growth I've seen in my life since I jumped into the tech field has been influenced by Kwadwo's desire to grow others and help developers unlock their purpose. He would be a tremendous asset to any student he comes across because, not only does he seek for the betterment of his students but makes sure to elevate them as well.

When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
I developed an interest in software engineering during my undergraduate studies in computer science. While taking courses on programming languages and algorithms, I was fascinated by how software engineers were able to create complex systems and solve real-world problems using code. During an exchange program in the US I had the joy of working on a project with two other classmates. I was blown away with how they saw the project as the chance to make something fun and creative. My classmate decided to add Pac Man to the application which was supposed to be a regular office application that was built with VS code. I couldn't believe it. Thats when I saw that in our job we can really push the boundaries beyond the constraints of a requirements doc.
What makes you passionate about your subject?
As a software engineer candidate, I am passionate about software engineering because it allows me to use my problem-solving skills to create innovative solutions that have the potential to positively impact people's lives.
My first job was working as an android developer for a digital address company that was making a real difference in people's lives . Every day I saw in real time what we were doing was being used in so many different ways I couldn't imagine would apply to our context in Ghana. For me that is the drive and motivation I need to do the job.
What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
"I have worked as a teacher since 2010, where I was a teaching assistant for Class 1 students. I take great joy in empowering others with the experience and techniques I have developed on my own. At the same time, it's extraordinary to see how students apply methods to their work, and I also learn from them during the course of the lessons.
Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.
Yes for me my biggest role model is my mother who has been my best ally throughout my life. Her patience with me and my siblings is a great inspiration
What are your keys to success?
Great question. I would say having confidence in the work , having a growth mindset and enjoying solving problems.
