About Ray
I am currently studying Biomedical science at ACU.
I taught high school Chemistry and Mathematics for 1 year (Cambridge A-levels) as a voluntary teacher in church and mentored 8 students. My greatest joy in tutoring was when my chemistry student received her first “A” on a quiz.
I studied Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Economics in high school.

I strongly believe that studying should be fun! I emphasise on the understanding of concepts more than memorisation.
No 2 students are the same - I design my lessons based on personal needs and strengths: Are you a visual learner? Are you the type of student who loves making notes? Adaptability to a student's needs is what I strive for.
Generally, I want my students to be at the centre of their learning. My aim is to build on and solidify a student's understanding of concepts. It is absolutely essential for me to help students make connections to their learning. A lot of emphases is laid on the clarity and careful analyses of content.
I create cheat sheets and practise questions for students as supplementary help on top of school resources. Other methods and resources I use are flow charts, mind maps as well as conceptual tables to simplify concepts easier.

My rate is universal - it does not depend on the level you are at.
Why I charge low: The reason I charge low is because I genuinely have a passion for Chemistry - and teaching it! The joys of teaching are its own reward.
Group tutoring: If you want to invite friends for lessons - great! The more the merrier! Group lessons will be charged $10 an hour per person instead of the usual $15. However, please inform me ahead of time in case I need to print additional materials.
Travel fee: I am more than happy to travel. However, if you'd like to meet outside the free tram zone, I charge a travel fee of $4 for Myki (I'm a broke college student).
Cancellation policy: There will be a cancellation fee of $10 if you cancel within 2 hours prior to the agreed-upon time. I understand that unforeseen circumstances may pop up unexpectedly, but I do appreciate early notice of cancellation.
