About Leah
For nearly a decade, I’ve been teaching French with a passion for both the language and its culture. My approach combines clear linguistic instruction with immersive cultural experiences, helping students feel not only competent but also confident in their French-speaking abilities. I strongly believe that language learning is most effective when students engage with it beyond just vocabulary and grammar. My goal is for students to connect with French culture — through its music, films, literature, and history — which I believe is essential for understanding the true spirit of the language. Outside the classroom, I stay deeply involved in francophone communities and continue my personal exploration of French culture, ensuring that my teaching remains dynamic and relevant. These cultural connections enrich my lessons and provide students with real-world context to better understand the language.

My French lessons are designed to help students gain fluency in a way that feels natural and engaging. Each session includes a balance of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural context, ensuring that students not only learn the language but also experience its cultural richness. I adapt my lessons to each student’s pace and learning style, making sure they feel challenged and motivated at every step.
Beginners start with basic vocabulary, common phrases, and pronunciation exercises, while intermediate learners work on conversation, listening, and reading comprehension. Advanced students dive into more complex texts, idiomatic expressions, and nuanced conversation. I use songs, news articles, and cultural videos to make lessons immersive and relatable.
I aim to make learning French feel like an enriching experience rather than a chore. Students leave my lessons with not just knowledge of the language but a deeper connection to the culture and the confidence to use French in real-life situations.
