About Danae

Hi, I’m Danaë, an MFA Creative Writing student at The New School and an English Literature graduate. I’m fluent in French, English, and Spanish, and I draw on my experience learning multiple languages to create engaging, practical lessons. My goal is to help you speak, write, and understand French with confidence and ease, adapting each session to your personal goals.

About the lesson

First Lesson Plan

- Introductions: Get to know each other and ease into French conversation.

- Short Language Activity: Reading a passage, writing a quick prompt, or basic conversation to gauge your level.

- Goal-Setting: Discuss why you’re learning French (travel, work, school, cultural interest) and set specific targets.

- Mini Sample Activity: Interactive dialogue or vocabulary exercise so you leave having learned something right away.

- Personalized Plan & Next Steps: Share feedback, outline future lessons, and provide light practice to continue between sessions.

Typical Lesson Plan

- Check-In: Review previous lesson, your objectives, and questions from the week.

- Immersion Activity: Short audio, article, or dialogue to expose you to authentic French.

- Guided Practice: Grammar, vocabulary, or writing exercises connected to the theme.

- Real-Life Application: Role-plays or scenario-based conversation (ordering food, travel, professional situations).

- Reflection & Assignment: Recap key phrases, pronunciation tips, and assign fun take-home practice.

What I Offer

- MFA-level expertise in writing and narrative techniques for richer lessons.

- Fluent in French, English, and Spanish, giving me insight into language learning strategies.

- Supportive, encouraging style to keep students motivated.

- TEFL certification in progress.

Who These Lessons Are For

- Teens or adults wanting conversational French for travel, work, or daily life.

- Students seeking academic French help—essays, reading comprehension, or writing practice.

- Learners of all levels ready to gain confidence and fluency in a supportive, goal-focused environment.
