About Maryam
Hi, my name is Maryam and I am currently a pharmacy student at the University of Central Lancashire. I am from Manchester. I'm a personal tutor offering tuition in both GCSE and KS3 Chemistry and Biology. I am very passionate about these subjects and I have studied and taught them in depth. I am able to work with students of all abilities. I have been told that my teaching style makes it enjoyable for my students as I am considered patient and very approachable. I like to tailor my lessons exactly to what my student requires in order to maximise the outcomes.

I will plan my lessons with clear aims for my students (highlighting goals that I would like for them to achieve). I will assemble materials and resources for their lesson (initially, during the first lesson I will get to know the student and identify their strengths and weaknesses; recognising this will aid me in preparing content to focus on for future lessons). As it is difficult to retain information long-term, I will spend a fraction of the lesson reviewing the previous topic taught in order to ensure that the teaching has been embedded into the students long-term memory. Depending on how often I will tutor the student, I will set them homework accordingly. I will ask them to highlight any areas they struggled on and to note down any questions they have for me so that we can review it in the following lesson. Towards the end of the lesson, I will acknowledge the students performance and highlight their achievements. I will reflect on how the lesson went with the student and record any areas of difficulty and review my teaching style. Based from the students feedback, I will adjust my lessons accordingly in order to maximise their benefits.
