About Tim

I’m a produced screenwriter based in Los Angeles, CA who’s been working in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. In addition to writing, I've also been a Story Producer in unscripted television on dozens of shows. I've worked for Discovery Channel, TNT, A&E, Robert Rodriguez, Donnie Wahlberg, Dick Wolf and the WWE. In the Summer of 2023, shows I Story Produced drew a combined 4 million viewers in primetime. I've even helped save two different shows from cancellation.
I have plenty of experience mentoring other writers either helping them place in screenwriting contests or helping them get representation. The key to helping any writer is finding the core of the story then eliminating any blockages of that core. I don't rewrite scripts for people, I help them figure out the best possible creative decisions. I help writers listen to their best instincts which leads to the writers listening to their main characters and taking the story where it needs to go.

About the lesson

Each curriculum will be tailored to the client's needs. Each writer, each story is different so my job will be to help bring YOUR vision to the page. In our sessions, we'll go over the central themes of the story and why that story needs to be told now. Then we'll talk characters making sure they're fully fleshed out. That sets us up for the scene work to make sure your story really sings! Whether you're writing a script for film or TV, from scratch, are stuck in the middle of a screenplay or just need help with a treatment/outline, I'm here to help. I'm also happy to assist with formats like writing for a podcast, creating a pitch deck or even creative non-fiction. If you've got a story, the world deserves to hear it. Let's bring it life!

One of the things I like best about working with Tim is that he doesn't turn my stories into his stories. He knows how to work with me to make sure the story I want to tell is told in a clear and compelling way. He has a thorough understanding of story structure, character development and entertainment such that he easily spots what's missing from a story or character and gives creative and helpful solutions.

I hired Tim to structure my screenplay. I had all of the parts but they weren't coming together at all. Tim is a master at story and structure. He took all of my puzzle pieces and fit them together in a solid, structured, yet compelling way. He was committed to and sensitive to keeping my voice and ideas in the process. At no time did he try to take the project in a direction that wasn't true to my vision. Not only is he a fantastic script doctor, but he's also a fantastic person. He's positive, creative, and a very hard worker. Hire him. You won't be sorry.
